Virginia Sullens Hakan August 25 1926 - August 17 2014 Chapel Hill Virginia Sullens Hakan died peacefully on Sunday morning. She was a gentle and gracious lady who was known for her subtle humor and sharp wit. For many years, she worked as a stock broker with integrity and faithful service to her clients. Upon retiring, she loved gardening, raising orchids and traveling the globe. More recently, she loved listening to a wide variety of music from classical to Willie Nelson. And, she was a longtime supporter of the classical radio station WCPE. Always a loyal and loving friend to Mary Jane, Joy and Delia and, most of all, she loved her children, her grandchildren and her cat , with all her big heart. Surviving are Michael(Santa Barbara, Ca) , Patty (Memphis, Tn) and Rob(Wilmington, NC) and grandchildren are Olivia, Violet and Paulina. A service and celebration of her life will be held at The Cedars of Chapel Hill on Tuesday August 19 at 4 p.m .
