Thelma Troutner

Thelma Troutner, born on July 13, 1933, in the serene surroundings of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, passed away on January 1, 2026. With a heart full of kindness and a spirit that brought joy to those who knew her, Thelma leaves behind a memory that will be cherished by family and friends alike.

Her life was marked by her devotion to her community and her unwavering love for her family. Thelma was not just a pillar of support but also an inspiration to many, guiding with wisdom and grace.

Thelma is survived by her devoted children, Deboran Hubbard, Barbara (Herman) Royalty, and Donald Troutner Jr., as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward her loving spirit and cherished memories.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Troutner Sr., along with her daughter, Catherine Porter, and grandson, Anthony Royalty. Their absence leaves a void that will always be felt by her family.

A visitation to celebrate her life will take place on January 9, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill, located at 11680 US Highway 501 N, Chapel Hill, NC 27517. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the same location, providing an opportunity for loved ones to come together, share their memories, and honor Thelma's remarkable journey.

Following the funeral service, Thelma will be laid to rest at Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro, NC, during a burial service scheduled at 2:00 PM

The legacy of Thelma Troutner will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life. Her kindness, generosity, and warmth will be remembered as the guiding light she was to many. She will be dearly missed.
