Stephen Sauber went home to our Lord and Savior on September 25, 2025 while in hospice care in Adelphi, MD. He suffered from Frontal Temporal Dementia.
He was born on June 4, 1959 in Takoma Park, MD to the late Henry Sauber and the late Frances Wilkinson. He is survived by his brother Daniel and his sisters Emma (Terry) Greer and Virginia Kennedy. Also nieces Sarah (Shane) Liptrap and Holly Sauber and nephews Storm(Mattie) Rottmann and Gary Rottmann.
Stephen had a lifelong love of music and was in the National Cathedral Boys Choir. He played the piano, violin, and harmonica. He liked singing karaoke and even judged competitions.
Daniel and Stephen delivered papers for the Evening Star (later the Washington Star) and had several routes. He did landscaping and Amway before joining the USMC in 1981. While in the Marines, he spent time in NC and Okinawa.
After leaving the Marines, Stephen moved to Fort Wayne, IN and had jobs in construction and carpentry. He enjoyed the outdoors, sports, and history. We will miss reminiscing with him as he could readily recall memories from our childhood.
