Russell Riley

Hillsborough - Mr. Russell Dean Riley, 66, died Sunday, January 1, 2017. He was born in Durham County to the late Helen and Percey Riley. He attended Orange County schools. His first job was with UNC Hospitals. He then began building houses and contracting his work. He always enjoyed music, dancing, singing and writing music. He had his own band at the beach, Blind Jelly Melon and the Fabulous Jelly Rolls. Surviving are his daughter, Charlesanna Hamlett (Shane), three grandsons: Tyler Jacobs, Riley Hamlett, and London Hamlett, one granddaughter, Autumn Jennings, one sister, Tracey R. Boley (Mike), one brother, Randy Riley (Susan), one aunt, Evelyn C. Rimmer, nieces, nephews, and special friend, Dawn Lewis. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Thursday in Eno Methodist Church by Rev. Scott Washington. Burial will be in Hillsborough Town Cemetery. Visitation will be 12-2:15 PM Thursday in the church.
