Ronald Louis Shearin of Chapel Hill has passed away June 16, 2026. After 93 remarkable years, Ronald had helped in the development of radar, the Apollo Space Program, and environmental engineering. He retired from service and went on to work in environmental safety at Carolina Power and Light for an additional 14 years. One of the highlights of his career was his work for the Apollo Space Program in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Ronald is a past president of the North Carolina Health Physics Society
