Rasters Young

Rasters Junior Young, aged 90, passed away on February 16th, 2018. Rasters, or RJ, was born in Ararat, Virginia and lived in Hillsborough, North Carolina. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in World War II from 1945 - 1946. He worked as a motorcycle mechanic in North Carolina until his retirement in the summer of 1995. He is survived by two children: Gary Edward Young, and Ginger Young Carter and her husband Tim Carter, four grandchildren: Daniel Bryson Young, Gary Young Junior, Jennifer Young Saunders, and Ashley Michele Carter, and six great-grandchildren. Rasters was predeceased by his wife Earsel Bowman Young and his son Daniel Lee Young. A Funeral Service was held in the Chapel of Walker’s Funeral Home, Hillsborough, at 2:30pm on Tuesday, February 20th. Officiating was Donnie Cash. Interment followed at the United Methodist Church Cemetery of Efland, NC.
