Patricia “Patty” Murdock, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and faithful follower of Christ, passed away on September 26, 2026, at the age of 58.
Patty was born on July 7, 1968, in Boston, Massachusetts, to James “Jim” Keaveney and Claire Keaveney. She met and married her husband, Richard Murdock, in Boston. Richard’s career in the United States Navy eventually brought their family to Arizona, where Patty and Richard built their life together, having two daughters, Marissa and Crystal, raising them in Arizona.
After their years in Arizona, Patty and Richard eventually settled in North Carolina, where they continued to build their life together and their family continued to grow.
Patty loved her family deeply. She was a devoted wife and she treasured becoming a grandmother, “meemaw”. She is survived by her husband, Richard Murdock; daughter, Marissa C. Murdock; daughter, Crystal E. Powell and her husband, James Powell; and her five grandchildren, Emmett, Scarlett, Beckett, Violett, and Pruett.
Patty had a special love for her dogs, who were cherished members of her family. She also loved her church and, above all, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Patty was a faithful follower of Christ and a member of The Chapel, Chapel Hill Baptist, where her faith and church family were an important part of her life.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, James “Jim” Keaveney and Claire Keaveney.
She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory, her love, and her faith with them. Though her absence will be deeply felt by those who loved her, her family takes comfort in the hope she held throughout her life—that through Christ, death is not the end, but a homecoming.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made in Patty’s honor to The Chapel, Chapel Hill Baptist.
