Nell Brafford

Nell Sherrer Brafford of Carrboro, NC passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Aug. 6, 2018, after a brief illness, at the age of 97 years old. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Nell is survived by her children Carolyn Brafford of Carrboro, NC, Benard and Wanda Brafford of Southport, NC, Barbara and Jeffrey Rubish of Carrboro, NC ; Grandchildren Connor, Kathryn, Christopher and Brooke, Lauren and Matt. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Hal Brafford. The family will receive visitors at Walker’s Funeral Home, 120 W. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill on Sunday, August 12 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will begin with a reception Monday, August 13 at 12 noon in the fellowship hall of Carrboro United Methodist Church, followed by a service at 1pm and burial at Westwood Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nell’s life.
