Michele Ann Kennedy

Michele Ann Kennedy, age 57, passed away on December 31, 2025, at her home in Mebane, NC. She was born and raised in North Arlington, New Jersey.

Michele graduated from Rutgers University with a major in Accounting and later earned her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials. She worked in the accounting field for nearly twenty years before pursuing a lifelong passion for nursing. Michele relocated to Durham, NC to attend the UNC School of Nursing. After her graduation in 2013, she enjoyed a short but meaningful career with UNC Hospitals Women’s Center. Due to medical issues, she entered early semi-retirement.

In 2018, Michele moved to Mebane, where she enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She was especially devoted to animals and shared her home with a succession of beloved cats and dogs, fostering and adopting many over the years. She also loved children and worked part-time as a nanny and caregiver. She touched many lives by helping both children and animals with specialized medical needs, especially diabetes.

Michele was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Ann Kennedy. She is survived by her father, John Kennedy, and his wife, Elizabeth; her sister, Susan, and husband Joe; her brother, John, and wife LeeAnna; and her nieces, Gabriele, Destinee, Beth, and Kera.

Services will be held Friday, January 9th, at 1:00 p.m. at Walker’s Funeral Home, located at 304 W. Center Street, Mebane, North Carolina.

Michele touched lives through her kindness, empathy, and compassion for others, human and animal alike. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
