MEBANE - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Thornton Owen, 81, died Saturday, November 17, 2012. She loved her friends and family. She was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are three sons: Winford Holmes, Paul Owen, and Ricky Owen; and one brother, Welden Thornton. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Owen, Jr., her son, Kenneth Holmes, her four sisters: Lessie, Margaret, Patricia, and Betty and her brother, James Thornton. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday in Walker's Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. David King. Burial will be in the Bynum UMC Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday in Walker's Funeral Home of Mebane. www.Walkersfuneralservice.com
