Mrs. Mary Helen Langley Lackey, 89, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Twin Lakes in Burlington.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 19, at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane with Hospice Chaplain, Rev. Gail Smith officiating.
A native of Staley, NC, Helen was born on October 3, 1936, the daughter of the late Milton Renzie Langley and Lador Lee Johnson Langley. Until her health no longer allowed, she enjoyed taking care of her yard and playing bridge in a couple of different clubs around the area. She was especially fond of her dogs, was retired from A T & T, and was a former member of Mebane Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband William Ray ‘Bill’ Lackey; her daughter Lori Ann Way; brothers Richard Monroe Langley and Milton Ray Langley; sisters Alice Lee Clark and Mildred Tripp. Surviving her are her brother, William Robert ‘Bob’ Langley, and his wife, Rachel, as well as her loving step-children and several nieces and nephews.
