Mary Anne Morris Ionni

Mary Anne Morris Ionni, 84, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026. Born on August 12, 1941, in Winterset, Iowa, she lived a life devoted to her family, friends, and community.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Richard J. Ionni; her son, Richard S. Ionni; and her brothers, Robert Morris and Richard Morris.

For more than 20 years, Mary Anne served as a Teaching Assistant with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System, where she touched the lives of many children with her kindness and dedication. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and was an accomplished league bowler who cherished the friendships she made through the sport.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Alice Shade, and her husband, James Michael Shade; grandchildren Jack Shade and Isabel Shade; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Anne will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
