Marie Neville Blake

Marie Neville Blake, 100, of Carrboro, NC, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Marie was preceeded in death by her husband of 63 years, Billie J. Blake; her grandson, Matthew J. Blake; step-son, Bobby W. Blake; her parents; three brothers; and four sisters.

Marie was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church where she served as the church organist and pianist for numerous years. Marie retired from the Town of Carrboro Finance Department.

Marie is survived by her son, Ted N. Blake (Cindy), daughter, Sandra B. Lemons (Ronnie), and step-daughter-in-law, Darlene M. Blake; grandchildren, Jason M. Blake (Ashley), Holly L. Brown (Josh), and Carter L. Lemons (Sarah); step-granddaughters Becky B. Lewis and Beth Anne Beyle (Jon); five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; three step-great-grandsons, two step-great-granddaughters, and two step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be at Bethel Baptist Church, Chapel Hill, NC, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11:00am. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 9328 Bethel Hickory Grove Church Rd., Chapel Hill, NC 27516. Walker's Funeral Home is assisting the family.
