Lishan Knowles

Lishan Woldemichael Knowles, 62, passed away on December 26, 2014, while spending Christmas with her daughters in Los Angeles, California. Lishan was born in Asbe Teferi, Ethiopia and led an active life of service in Chapel Hill. A chef, caretaker and a devoted member of Grace Church, she was beloved for her energy, faith and sense of humor. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Grace Church, 200 Sage Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. Visitation: 10:00am Service: 11:00am Burial: 12:00pm at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery between Fordham Blvd. and Legion Road, west of Scarlett Drive, followed by a reception back at Grace Church. She was survived by her daughters Cathy Casey of Los Angeles; Sophie Knowles of New York; and her step-daughter Stephanie Knowles of New York. Arrangements are with Walker Funeral Home, Chapel Hill.
