Larry Wayne Barnes

Larry Wayne Barnes (June 10, 1947 -May 1, 2020) passed away after a long battle with COPD. He is survived by his mother, Margie Rigsbee Barnes; children: Amanda Tripp (Terrell), Marlon Barnes (Teresa Sykes), Amelia Dickerson (Bobby), Mark Barnes (Kristie); brothers, Henry Barnes Jr. and Troy Barnes (Rose); sisters,: Frances Jordan, Diane Eubanks (Billy Holland), 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Woodrow Barnes, Sr., children: Olin Barnes and Lucus Barnes; and brothers: Jake Barnes and Clarence Barnes. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Lystra Baptist Church Cemetery, 686 Lystra Road, Chapel Hill. Please note that due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, attendence will be limited to 50 people, and Chatham County requires those in attendence to be wearing a mask, if able, and social distancing will be expected. The Barnes family is under the care of Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill.
