Josef Anderle

Chapel Hill Josef Anderle, 89, of Chapel Hill passed away on Monday February 10, 2014. He was born in Prague, Czech Republic, on June 11, 1924. He earned several degrees; including 2 PhD's from the University of Munich, Charles University, and the University of Chicago. He was a professor of eastern European history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, retiring after 30 years. Josef is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Pam Anderle, and his 4 grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly, Sarah, and David. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonia Anderle in 2003 A funeral service will be held at the Walker's Funeral Home of Chapel Hill on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association . Walker's Funeral Home is honored to serve the Anderle family.
