Jerry Wayne Warren

Jerry Wayne Warren, 83, of Rougemont, passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2026, following a period of declining health.

Jerry was born on July 19, 1943, the son of the late Edna Gillette Warren and Henry Lee Warren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Marilyn Bragg Warren; his brother, Marvin Warren; and his sister, Peggy Warren Harrington.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Randy Wayne Warren (Melissa) and Jerry Anthony “Tony” Warren (Amanda); grandchildren, Brice Warren (Stephanie), Brennan Warren (Jordan), Carter Warren, Tyler Lloyd (Chloe), Alysann Marrs (Zach), Dylan Herndon, and Brooke King; great-grandchildren, Paisley Warren, Anniston Marrs, and Kooper Lee; his brother, Benjamin Warren; and sisters, Marian Gooch and Naomi Wagner.

Jerry worked as a painter throughout his life and took great pride in his work. He was a hardworking, devoted family man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved hunting, fishing, family vacations, and spending time working in his garden. He especially enjoyed sharing the vegetables he grew with his neighbors and friends.

Family meant everything to Jerry. He shared 56 wonderful years with his wife, Marilyn, whom he loved dearly. Together, they built a wonderful life and raised their two sons, Randy and Tony. As the years passed and their family grew, Jerry cherished becoming a grandfather and great-grandfather. He treasured the time spent with each of them, and nothing made him happier than having everyone together.

Jerry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jerry’s sister in law and niece ,Annie and Annie Carol Warren along with Jerry’s hospice care team for the kindness, care, and support they provided during his final days.

Pallbearers will be Brice Warren, Brennan Warren, Carter Warren, Tyler Lloyd, Dylan Herndon, and Zach Marrs.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Durham on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the graveside beginning 30 minutes prior to the service.
