Jeffrey Andrews Rubish passed away after his battle with cancer on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the age of 70.
Jeffrey was born in Bethlehem, PA and grew up in Chapel Hill, NC. He was the middle son of the late Mike Rubish and Patsy Andrews Rubish. Jeffrey lived in Carrboro with his late wife Barbara Rubish in their family home where they had raised their three children. He is remembered as a devoted father, loving grandfather, and trusted friend. Jeffrey retired from local High and Rubish Insurance Agency in Chapel Hill after working over 40 years. His work ethic could be seen in the office, and in his yard.
Jeffrey was absolutely one of those people who would take his shirt off his own back for those he just met. He coached little league teams for his sons and the community. He consistently supported local charities, including his daughter’s school, local arts, and families in need. He was a longtime member of the Jaycees of NC raising funds to build the UNC Burn Unit. The joy he found in family, friends, and life will not be forgotten.
Jeffrey is remembered by his eldest son Christopher Rubish and wife Brooke Rubish, daughter Kathryn Rubish, and youngest son Connor Rubish. He is also remembered by his two grandchildren Walker and Willow Rubish, as well as many close cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The celebration of Jeffrey’s life will begin with a service at University Baptist Church in Chapel Hill at 11:00 on Monday, November 10, 2025, friends and family are welcome to attend.
