James Michael Apple

James Michael Apple, 72, of Efland passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2026 with his wife and children by his side. Mike was born on August 1, 1954, the son of the late Arthur H. and Mildred Phillips Apple. He was proceeded in death by his brothers Roger Apple, Donald Apple and sister Liz Spence.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Cheryl Sykes Apple; his daughter Christy Andrews and husband Jason; his son James Robert Apple and wife Jeanina; his grandchildren Mason Andrews, Ashlyn Andrews, Clint Apple, Luke Apple and many other loving family members.

Mike was a carpenter by trade and took great pride in his work. He was a hardworking, devoted family man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family. His sense of humor brought joy to all those around him and will be deeply missed.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
