Irwin Sawitz

Irwin Elliot Sawitz- beloved husband, loving father, trusted friend and mentor to many, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2016. Born on January 26, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, Say was an acclaimed restaurateur, clock collector, humanitarian and world traveler. He was the kindest, gentlest soul we've ever known. He only saw the good in people. He is survived by his wife Norma; daughters: Michelle Maloney, Nicole Hosterman, Jodi Hershey; son Steve Sawitz; grandchildren, Samuel, Jack, Jessica, Lauren, Blayke, Julia; great grandchildren Alexandra, Iyana; and countless friends. "A man like Say only comes once in a long while. We are so blessed to have him be part of our lives." We love you, Say. The family will be receiving guests on Friday, July 1st at their Chapel Hill home from 2 PM to 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, please do a random act of kindness in his memory.
