Helen Brinkley Worley

Funeral services will start at 12:00 with visitation then memorial will be held at 1:00 PM July 29th, at Walker’s Funeral Home 204 N Churton Street Hillsborough, NC 27278. After memorial, friends are welcome to follow Family and Mrs. Helen to her final resting place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens on highway 86.

She was born in Johnston County on July 29th, 1938, to the late James Thelton Brinkley and the late Maudie Eason Brinkley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 67 years, Vernon Rudolph Worley 2022; a son, Vernon Ricky Worley, in 2017; Grandson Eric Turner, her brothers J.R. Brinkley, Jasper Brinkley, and Bob Brinkley; and her sisters Elsie Benson, Rudean Senter and Jean Massengill. Still living in-laws Walt Senter, MaryJane and Carl Coble.

She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Turner and husband Edward, Son, Scott Worley; grandchildren, Tracy Gould, Chris Worley wife Jackie, Megan Turner, Jared Worley wife Reni, and Amber Worley; great-grandchildren; Ashley McCoy, Justin Worley, Colton Worley, Wren Ramirez, Carolina Worley, Amarie Worley, Victoria Worley. Also, her special nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Worley wanted to give Special consideration to the many Friends who have always been close to her; The family and friends at Rice’s Glass company, Aj Robinson, Maria “B” Kwiatek, and the many other friends she enjoyed her time with.

Helen Worley retired from Hewlett Packard, she also worked at Aesthetic Hairstyling of Chapel Hill, and Rice’s Glass Company of Carrboro. Mrs. Worley was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Lastly if you knew Helen you know she always had a kind word and smile for everyone. “She didn’t know a stranger.”
