HILLSBOROUGH - Mrs. Helen Mae Penland Blalock, 70, died Friday, October 18, 2013, in UNC Hospitals. She attended the Orange County school. She was a health care aide where needed. Surviving are her husband, Larry V. Blalock, her daughter, Susie Burgner (Richard), Hillsborough, two granddaughters, Emily Burgner and Erin Burgner, six brothers: Billy Penland (Barbara), Bobby Penland (Patricia), Doug Penland (Sandra), Wayne Penland (Mary Alice), Donald Penland, and Glenn Penland. She was predeceased by her brother Danny and her sister, Patricia . The graveside service will be held 2 PM Sunday in Little River Prsesbyterian Church Cemetery. www.walkersfuneralservice.com
