Gerald "Jerry" Guyer

Mar 3, 1937 — Nov 2, 2026

Gerald “Jerry” Guyer, 89, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026. Born March 3, 1937, in Fulton, New York, he was the son of Howard and Madeleine Guyer.

Jerry attended Denison University, where he met his beloved wife, Joy. He built a successful career, becoming Vice President of Sales at Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire and later an owner of MGM Real Estate in Hilton Head, South Carolina. A man of Christian faith, he served as a deacon in the Presbyterian Church in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Jerry and Joy both achieved the distinction of Life Master in bridge and shared a love of golf and traveling the world. He delighted in recounting his 110 cruises, and their Hilton Head home became a treasured gathering place for family. His humor, kindness, and devotion to those he loved remained constants throughout his life. He lived by a simple principle: “Be faithful to your family and your work.”

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Joy, and his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Jamie Priolo (Andy), Jennifer Stenner (Jack), and Julie Fulmer (Chris); nine grandchildren, Jackson (Lindsey), Jordan (Bruna), Alex, Aidan, Rachael (Glenn), Jonathan, Andrew (Sydney), Caroline, and Kathryn; three great-grandchildren, Mila Grace, Ava Kristen, and Alfred Jackson Stenner VI; and his sister, Sue Cronin, and her companion, Joe Lertch.
