Freddy Dickey

December 18, 1946 — 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Freddy Dickey on April 24, 2025.

Freddy was raised in Hillsborough, North Carolina, where he developed a love for fishing and hunting at a young age. He attended Orange High School where he excelled in sports. His favorite sports were football and basketball. After he left school, he joined the army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam and Germany.

Freddy's professional journey began in the city of Burlington where he quickly became known for his integrity and work ethic and made a lasting impact on everyone he worked with. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated and compassionate individual who always puts others first.

Freddy was preceded in death by his second wife, Sandra Somers Dickey.

Freddy married Evelyn Beaver Dickey in 2020 and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Freddy is survived by his wife, Evelyn Dickey, his two sons, Donnie and Travis Dickey, his stepdaughter, Rita Parsons (Dale), two sisters, Gayle Williams and Dolley Hester (Mike). He also had three grandchildren, Bryan, Anna, Heather, Matthew Parsons and Michelle Ledford, and great grandchildren Brennen, Axton, and Waylyn and Lucas. He cherished every moment spent with them, from family vacations to simple evenings at home. Freddy also became stepdad to Eveul's four sons in 2020. Cheshire, James, Adam, and Allen Cole. He was a grandad to her twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. Freddy cherished his family and was loved by all of us.

Freddy's beautiful smile and sweet personality will be missed among his family and friends.
