Era Carr

HILLSBOROUGH - Mrs. Era Laws Carr, 95, died Thursday, May 29, 2014. She was born in Orange County and attended the Aycock Schools. She was the daughter of the late Birdie Blalock and Hubert Garland Laws. She worked at Hillsborough Florist and was a homemaker for many years. She was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. Surviving are one sister, Elma Laws Hawkins, Hurdle Mills, one brother, John Wesley Laws, California, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, John Claiborne Carr, two sisters, Evelyn Laws Parker and Ellen Frances Laws Wilkins. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Saturday, May 31, in Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Hillsborough Town Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 PM Saturday prior to the service.
