On December 3, 2025 at 10:14 p.m. Douglas Wayne Banks passed away at Duke Hock Family Pavilion in Durham, Noth Carolina. He had been suffering from the long term effects of a stroke that occurred on May 23, 2025. His fight to survive and proceed to rehab was a valiant undertaking, but the stroke was too devastating to recover from - no matter how hard he tried.

Mr. Banks is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Judith Lee Banks, of Hurdle Mills; his son, Garrett Talladega Cartwright Banks and his wife Megan McDaniel Banks of Winterville, North Carolina; his adopted son, Sean Logan Wilt of Timberlake, North Carolina; his brothers, Michael Ray Banks and Stephen Bruce Banks, both of Maysville, North Carolina. And he is predeceased by his Father, Raymond Carmine Banks, Jr. and his mother, Ruth Elizabeth Gasperson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Walker's Funeral Home in Mebane, North Carolina. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane. 

Services entrusted to Walker's Funeral Home Hillsborough.
