David Dawkins McDade

David Dawkins McDade, 70 passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Spring Glen Retirement Center in Durham, NC. He was born on July 29, 1956 to John Henry "Jack" McDade, Sr and Mary Ann McAuley McDade, both of whom predeceased him. David was a very special and caring person, who loved his Spring Glen family. He is survived by 3 cousins, Brenda McAuley Mitchell, Judy McAuley Chidley and Hazel McAuley Ethridge.

Special thanks to the staff at Spring Glen for their compassionate care, and also to UNC Hospice and Mount Hermon Baptist Church.

Interment was at Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro, NC. A Memorial service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, October 18, 2026 at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 4511 Old NC 10, Durham, NC.

Memorials may be made to Spring Glen Retirement Center. Walker's Funeral Home is serving the family.
