In Loving Memory of David Joshua BenEliyahu

March 12, 1957 – June 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of David Joshua BenEliyahu, age 69, who passed away on June 4, 2026.

Known as "Dr. Ben" to many, he will be remembered as a caring, empathetic, and strong man whose warmth and sense of humor brought joy to all those around him. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, making everyone feel heard, valued, and understood.

David was born on March 12, 1957, in the Bronx, New York, and grew up on Long Island. From an early age, he possessed a strong sense of determination, compassion, and wit that became hallmarks of his character.

After graduating from high school in 1975, he attended Binghamton University, earning his degree in 1979.

In 1980, he married the love of his life, Diane. Their beautiful partnership was one built on love, devotion, and shared dreams that would span more than four decades.

The newlyweds soon moved to Chicago, where David pursued his dream of becoming a chiropractor. In 1982, he graduated from The National College of Chiropractic. That same year, the couple welcomed their first son, Josh. They soon returned to Long Island, where David would begin his professional career.

In the following years, David and Diane continued to build a loving family. Their daughter Jennifer was born in 1984, followed by son Jason in 1987, and daughter Jordan in 1988.

David was a devoted husband and father who worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for his children. He believed deeply in their potential and never stopped encouraging, supporting, and pushing them to pursue their goals and dreams. His unwavering belief helped shape the wonderful people they are today.

Driven by his desire to help others, David eventually founded Coram Selden Chiropractic, building it into a thriving and respected practice.

Over the course of his career, he cared for thousands of patients. His impact extended well beyond medicine, touching many lives through his generosity, empathy, and genuine concern for others.

To many, he was far more than a chiropractor: he was a trusted confidant, a source of encouragement, and a compassionate presence during difficult times.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Diane; his children, Josh (Maia), Jennifer (Doug), Jason (McKenzie), and Jordan; and his grandchildren, Jack and Luke, Kelsey, Ryan and William, and Abigail and Josie.

Nothing brought David greater joy than his family, and especially his beloved grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them and took immense pride in watching them grow.

Above all, David will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest accomplishments were the family he built and the many lives he touched.

His legacy lives on through the children he fiercely loved, the patients he fervently helped, and the love and humor he shared so freely with friends and anyone lucky enough to know him.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the example he set will remain with those who loved him forever.

May his memory be a blessing.

A celebration of life will be held at Walkers Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 13,2026 at 11.30 am. The family will receive friends starting at 11:00am before the service. Burial will be after the service.
