Bruce H. Williams, born on September 8, 1942, in the heart of North Carolina, to John H. Williams and Frances Atwater Williams. Bruce passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026. He is remembered as a dedicated individual who made significant contributions to his community and touched the lives of many with his kindness and unwavering spirit.
Bruce's life was characterized by a profound commitment to his values, and he approached each day with a sense of purpose. He was a member of the Army National Guard. Throughout his life, Bruce exemplified integrity and compassion, fostering relationships that created a lasting impact in both his personal and professional endeavors. His career spanned from Gift Land, a family owed business in Carrboro, NC to UNC Scientific Supply in Chapel Hill, NC and later to data processing at State Capital Life Insurance Company. Bruce's dedication also flowed into his love of God , attending Antioch Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, NC. His passion for life was evident in his hobbies: hunting, fishing, and being an avid Nascar fan. Bruce is survived by brother, Gene (Ruth) Williams of Chapel Hill, NC; nephews: Greg (Charlene) Williams of Graham, NC and Chris (Stacy) Williams of Durham, NC; and niece, Cindy (Wayne) Lloyd of Mebane, NC. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents: John H. Williams and Frances Atwater Williams.
A graveside service to honor Bruce's memory will take place at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 23, 2026, at Antioch Baptist Church, located at 1707 White Cross Road in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Pastor David Atwater Officiating A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall at Antioch Baptist Church.
As we reflect on Bruce's life, we are reminded of the light he brought into the world. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Antioch Baptist Church.
