Brian James McVeigh Jr., age 32, passed away on June 2, 2025, in Pittsboro, NC.
He was born February 4th, 1993, to father Brian James McVeigh Sr. and mother Sheila Kerr Maccubbin in Durham County, NC. He received his High School Diploma from Carrboro High School and worked for Genesco, Inc. Brian attended St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Chapel Hill, NC.
He was passionate about riding his motorcycle and everything related to Harley Davidson. He also loved to watch horror films, spend time with his cat, collect vinyl records, try new food at fairs and carnivals, listen to live music, tattoos, and also enjoyed drawing.
Brian is survived by father Brian McVeigh of Carrboro, NC.; mother Sheila McVeigh of Calabash, NC.; sister, Kerr Siegemund of Charlotte, NC.; sister in law Siobhan Burke-Siegemund of Charlotte, NC.; brother Alex McVeigh of Carrboro, NC., stepmother, Gina Herrera McVeigh of Carrboro, NC; and girlfriend Maribel Chavez Galvan of Sims, NC.
He is preceded in death by his granddad Reverend Malcom Maccubbin; his grandmother “Bombom” Alice Marques McVeigh and his best friend Henry Marshall.
Although Brian’s life was short, he touched the hearts of many people. He was a lover of all kind of animals, always showing them care and compassion, whether he was feeding stray cats or volunteering at animal shelters. Despite the hardships he faced, he remained a kind and beautiful soul. He is remembered for bringing dandelions to his mom on the way home from school and always picking flowers for his girlfriend (even if he happened to grab them from the hospital garden). He will be remembered for the art that he created, birthday cards, portraits, and even his own tattoos.
Those who loved Brian will never forget his passion for Harleys, his mischievous nature, his clever sense of humor, his strong work ethic, his perseverance, and his vast collection of Terrifier merchandise (and how much it terrified his mother!).
Above all, Brian will be remembered as a son, a brother, a cousin, a nephew, a grandson, a stepson, a boyfriend, and a best friend. We wish him love and light as he takes his last big ride over the horizon.
The family would like to thank the staff of the SECU Jim and Betsy Bryan Hospice Home, UNC Hospitals, and all who helped him on his journey at the end of his time on earth, who are too many to name. They provided him with dignity, comfort, compassion, and kindness, which they extended to the entire McVeigh Family as well.
