Brenda Kay Riley Snipes

Brenda Kay Riley Snipes passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025 at Compass Health & Rehab at Hawfields in Mebane, NC. She was born on July 13, 1947 in Alamance County, NC, to parents Tilton P. Riley and Virgie Madison Snipes. Brenda was predeceased by her husband Weldon A. Snipes, Jr, her parents and several brothers. Survivors include her son Jerald Snipes of Mebane, NC, and her friend Karen McAdams.

Brenda had a good and gentle soul. In many ways she suffered challenges throughout her life, but persevered and had a positive attitude. She was a blessing to those who knew her. Brenda was of the Christian faith.

Special thanks go to the staff at Compass Health and Rehab at Hawfields in Mebane for their excellent care of Brenda for the past 5 years during her struggle with dementia. Thanks also to Authoracare of Burlington for hospice care in Brenda’s final week.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery on Lebanon Rd. in Mebane.
