Betty Wood Goodson

Betty Wood Goodson, 86, of Hillsborough, North Carolina, passed away on October 21, 2026, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who loved with her whole heart. Her kindness, warmth, and devotion to her family touched the lives of all who knew her. To know Betty was to love her, and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her son, Tim Goodson, and his wife, Joy, of Madison, West Virginia; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil L. Goodson; her daughter, Teresa Bullock; her father, Robert Wood; and her mother, Rosa Bell Wood.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 30, 2026, at Hillsborough Town Cemetery in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
